All Bitterroot Valley 9th-12th grade students are invited to participate in ATR's 'First Responders' Art Contest. Artwork should depict a first responder - a person with specialized training who is among the first to arrive and provide assistance at the scene of an emergency, such as an accident, a natural disaster, the pandemic, or a terrorist attack. First responders include military, paramedics, EMTs, police officers, firefighters, and rescuers.

Categories

  1. Drawing and sketch (charcoal, pastel, pencil, etc.)
  2. Painting (acrylic, oil, watercolor, etc.)
  3. Sculpture (clay, stone, metal, ceramic, etc.)

Prizes

The top four entries in each category will receive cash prizes as follows: 1st $500, 2nd $300, 3rd $150, and 4th $100. One entry will be awarded an additional $150 for ”Best of Show.” The schools with the most Top-3 winners will receive the following for their art program: 1st $500, 2nd $350, 3rd $250, 4th $100. Total prizes awarded in this contest are $4,500!

Rules and Submissions

Submitted artwork must be original. Entries are judged on creativity, craftsmanship, composition, and interpretation of the theme. Each piece must include an artist's statement and the title of the work. Submit a digital photo or scan of your artwork to jturner@atrco.com. The image format must be JPG, PNG, or GIF with minimum dimensions of 1600 x 1200 pixels. Scans should be 150DPI. Landscape or portrait orientation acceptable. 10MB maximum file limit. Winning artwork will be retained by ATR.
