About the workshop
This workshop is a collaborative effort towards operational excellence by 3 industry leaders — ATR, PEi, and UCDS. It is designed to disseminate information and knowledge about cultural adoption of digital transformation and operational excellence and to help with a systematic approach towards production management best practices.
Workshop objectives
- The objective of this workshop is to lay out a structured and systematic approach to help companies and personnel improve safety, reliability, product quality and profitability.
- It will help participants develop a sustainable program for operational excellence at the point of production from the control room to the field.
- This workshop will enable the usage of conduct of operations management systems and standards, operational discipline requirements, and digital operating procedures technology.

Mr. Lander is Managing Director and Chief Innovation Officer at ATR which he has led for 30 years. He is a top consultant in the area of digital procedure program management and digital transformation to enable mobility and content personalization. He is an expert in the area of human factored procedures and one of the core team founders of the Abnormal Situation Management Consortium and the Texas A&M Next Generation Procedure Consortium. Being a thought leader, Elliott has been invited to present and share his views at many panels and conferences.
Jack Pankoff
President, Production Excellence, Inc.
Mr. Pankoff is President and CEO of Production Excellence, Inc. For 40+ years, he has trained over 2,000 executives, plant managers, and staff professionals using conduct of operations and operational discipline to improve and sustain point-of-production plant performance. Mr. Pankoff has served as a key member of the Abnormal Situation Management Consortium for over ten years. He founded and served as CEO of TTS Performance Systems, Inc. and the Center for Process Plant Management LLC. until he formed PEi in 2009.
Ian Nimmo
President, UCDS
Mr. Nimmo is a member of IET (CEI) in the UK as well as a Fellow Member of ISA. He is the president of UCDS. He is the founding director of the Abnormal Situation Management Consortium, an ISA award-winning Engineering Fellow, and author of the High-Performance HMI and Control Room Design Guide. Mr. Nimmo saw a need in the marketplace for overall control room and human factors expertise. To fill this void, he founded User Centered Design Services, Inc. in 2000. His experience in the Refining and Petrochemicals Industry spans more than 40 years.
